As usual some interesting furniture came my way this week but it needed some TLC. This chest of drawers came from an old school in West London and was dirty, dusty and dull with peeling varnish.
To breath some new life into it I simply took an electric sander to it and finished off with sandpaper to clean the inside of the drawers.
I really like the raw look and feel to sanded wood but thought best to protect it against dirt, water etc with some wood oil from OSMO.
Then after looking at it I thought it would look good if raised up off the floor creating a shadow gap underneath so I used some offcuts of wood and it really sets the unit off.
